Started off the morning in the surf at the pier and was able to land some nice trout. 3 trout over 20 inches (2 released) and a few smaller ones mixed in. Went out to the diamond and set out a live bait trolly rig for spanish. Ended up hooked 4 blacktips and landed 5 keeper Spanish as well. Busy morning but fishing slowed around mid day when the wind kicked up. Will post pictures later
Was the menhaden still around?

There were some around in the morning near the surf but they were down deep. One big school came through the end about 50 yards off
Spanish seem be here in greater numbers than previous years. Last week I was able catch many just throwing plugs.
The trout make it worthwhile IMO! Easier than taking the boat out!

Just throwing gotchas off the pier? Never fished there before but wanted to go catch some spanish there.

Gotchas have been producing some good fish but live menhaden have hooked the biggest fish (for me at least)
