Folly Pier

This is my first post as I am only here for the week and have only fished the pier in Navarre Beach FL before.

Got out about 1 hour before high and in a ways from the end of the pier as I could see a trough there from the condo we are renting. Immediately started catching small whiting, 6 - 10 inches. Since I couldn’t keep two rods going with the fresh shrimp, I cut up a small whiting and put it out on the other rod. Caught a couple small blues and 1 nicer whiting, about 12 inches on it.

Nothing compared to you guys that are regulars, but for somebody who doesn’t really know what he is doing other than what he read out here, I thought I did OK. Went in about 90 minutes after high, so fished about 2 1/2 hours, about a dozen whiting, 2 small blues and 1 small shark.

Going back out for evening high tonight. Hopefully can do even better.

The worst day fishing is better than the best day working!

If your going out tonight around 6-dusk I recommend bringing a rod to throw plugs/jigs as lately at night large schools of Spanish mackerel have been around. Fast presentation(reel as fast as can pretty much) and can guarantee you’ll get some hook ups!

Wish I had seen your reply earlier FishingDuo. Thanks for the suggestion. Maybe next time.

Only 6 small sharks and one small blue tonight. Was VERY windy even after sundown which made the fishing difficult.
