folly quick friday and sunday

late morning to mid day both trips. the one friday was really quick 2hrs just brought out some little tunny on the big rod. paddled em out on the long board. not one bite and no bites on the bait rod for the 30mins i gave it any effort. dropped the long board off to get some dings repaired so not a total waste of time.

sunday met parents out on the beach and caught several nice whiting (best i have seen all year). kept 2 for a couple tacos. also several small to medium small blacktips a bluefish and a weakfish. sadly the best outing i have had all year. had 2 runs on the big rod with whiting chunks. one pulled the hook after a brief tug of war. the other simply dropped what was left of my whiting head after coming tight. hot day flat ocean. tonnes of menhaden of the break

Good report. We just spent a few hours in the Folly surf. Nothing but a couple nibbles until about an hour an a half into rising tide and all heck broke loose. Managed a couple whiting, 6 or 7 sharks, and a ray in about 30 or 45 minutes. Fishing close to shore. One shark came as I was reeling in when the bait was no more than 10 feet off dry land. Beers burgers and more bait and we’ll be back out til dark

May your tip forever wiggle

Rising tide, always better in my book…water moving in, fish moving in. But I’m a morning person, so I take what it gives me. :stuck_out_tongue: Plus it’s gettin’ HOT.
