I’ve been fishing since Sunday and it hasn’t been too great. I’ve only had a handful of decent sized trout 16-24" an one decent sized snapper blue. I’ve been fishing with live finger mullet carolina rigged on the incoming tide and I’ll start hitting the outgoing tomorrow. Any advice to increase my odds and does anyone know of any spots for flounder off the surf on folly? You can either pm me or reply back.
A 24" trout is a trophy. You have high standards!

Yeah it’s a shame I’m spoiled like that haha. I only caught fish Monday and the blue yesterday so I’m a little frustrated with the fishing but what can you do. That’s why they call it fishing and not catching I guess

not sure where u are fishing but don’t fish on flat bottom. go out at low tide and find an area where the waves break far out, then fizzle out, and then reform and break again. There is a “ditch” that forms in between the beach and the sand bar that is out in the water. in that ditch is where you want to be fishing. Also don’t cast as far out as you can. Most of the big fish will be within 3-4 feet of water. Back when I used to surf fish out there a lot there was a great “ditch” around 10th street on the left side of the beach. Don’t know if it is still there or not. It is worth a shot to go down there and see. That is why fishing off the folly pier sucks beacuse it is all flat bottom out there. you are just going to have to explore the beach to find the places that hold fish
A 24" trout is a beast. A lot of our trout now are around 13" so all keeper fish ain’t bad at all. Next year the trout are gonna be great!

Fished 8 hours today and caught the skunk real good. Had a few small hits and some chopped mullet it was either a snapper blue or a small shark. Really thought I’d put a catch together today fishing most of the outgoing and incoming tides

put on half a crab and see what that does. last time i was out i had 3 hits from bonnetheads and im sure the chance of a bull red exists too.
