I could obviously tell that the inlet was calm water during low tide. I don’t really know much about the ocean. Is it better to fish the inlet or the surf? The last three times I’ve gone it’s been pretty terrible fishing. I caught a total of 4 whiting and 1 Surf perch.
I’d really like to get on some more sharks because of the fight. I’m reading about moon phases and all that, but I have no idea. Any recommendations are welcome. I drive 2 1/2 hours to fish and it’s taking a toll when I don’t catch much.
Ive noticed lately at n folly the fishing is better early in the morning at any tide. Im talking 5am-11am has been the best time for me. I got on the beach at 530am and was non stop action and died off aeound 1030 after no bites for 2 hours packed it up. The inlet side is okay its better for me at high tide. You should be catching a ton of sharks and stingrays right now that put up a good fight. You have to throw some cut bait out.
Thanks Stevo. I’ll leave extra early in the morning then and try it out. Is the inlet any better or is that where smaller fish like to hang out? I’m getting a kayak to take my boats out further.
