Doesn’t look like a bull shark. Nose is too pointy.

“Colman said it looked like the shark got stuck between the beach and a sandbar as the tide went out”

If this were the case, that would have to be a really stupid shark…

It’s a blacktip or spinner. Can’t see it very clearly but 100% not a bull shark.

looks like a BT to me and some of the comments are pretty amusing. saw 1 that said it was an atlantic sharpnose even tho the story said 5-6 feet long. perhaps that guy was wrong?

Yep my comment was a sharp nose it’s got every characteristic of one . Who knows might of been a world record one left high and dry . But the news said 5-6’ don’t look it to me but again they also said a bull shark . Talk about the hardiest species to identify ! There are so many that look the same !

19’ Cobia bay

Definitely not a sharpnose. Seems too have a complete lack of the body side light colored blotches, and the body is far too hefty. Sharpnose are longer and more slender.

“Sire, it belongs in truth to the Church of God, in whose name I speak, to endure blows and not to inflict them. But it will also please your Majesty to remember that she is an anvil that has worn out many hammers.”…Theodore Beza

It’s 100% a black tip… And I imagine it was either sick from parasites or had been fatigued by an angler recently… Sharks are like a well tuned machine I don’t think it just got trapped out of stupidity.

I really hope that is not the one I caught and released from iop’s beach on Tuesday around 2:30pm. I went Tuesday afternoon and did quite well. Tons of whiting and a solid black tip that was about 5 ft. Caught it on a live whiting, Penn battle 5000 and circle hook. Landed mine in about ten minutes, snapped a few pics and it swam off with no issues. It’s in a close proximity to where mine was released. I’d feel bad if it didn’t make it. I’d say the one I released was about sixty pounds. I hope mine made it. I have pics but can’t post them for some reason otherwise I’d put them up.

As we know from previous posts i’m not a shark ID expert, but definitely not a bull shark. Wonder why DNR wasn’t interested in checking it out ? too busy ?
