Freaky Friday

I met up with Mr. Parker and his wonderful wife for a day of fishing on Friday. It was hot with a heat index of 105! The strong winds actually made it quite pleasant, but I had to put my cell phone in my cooler to work for pics, because it said it was over heated and wouldn’t function. We had a pretty good day with the fish and experienced something neither one of us had ever seen before. Large rays were constantly swimming up to our feet in 6-8 inches of water and were mating everywhere. They were literally inches from us and you could poke them and they just kept on having “sexual relations” and had no fear of the strangers next to them. The females were pregnant ready to burst and actually after catching one of them one dumped it’s babies right in front of us. Pretty Neat. We hit the beach at high tide, found a good spot and quickly deployed cut fresh shrimp and the bite started right away and we racked up a couple dozen whiting and several black drum. The bite shut down for a bit, we made our way out to the back side of a sand bar and it picked up once again. The final tally was about 25 whiting,Couple baby sharks and pin fish,6 or so nice big rays, 6 black drum and 6 reds with Mrs Parker demonstrating her skills and bringing in a red as well:smiley: We had 2 nice shark runs that easily bit through our mono liter rigs as well. All in all good people, good day, good fishing. Shrimp was the bait of choice for everything. We were treated to a spectacular lightning storm at the end of the day, and caught a strike on a pic. Which is harder than it sounds. On a side note we are still looking for a few good men for the surf fishing trip that MAD is sponsoring on military appreciation day for the soldiers in November. Please help us folks. If your interested Pm the boss, Gail WINS. The trip should be allot of fun, they have a large ferry taking everyone out to Morris Island and are pairing soldiers up with the fisherman and we all get to hit the beach together for some fun. Good luck and God Bless, Folks.
