Fished falling tide in a little bit of wind at folly Friday. Caught 3 black drum. 2 were samiches 1 was a little cutie. Fished this morning Around 28-30th on Sullivan’s. caught 1 horseshoe crab. Really slow not even a whiting. Not sure what’s going on but the beaches have been very slow for me thus far this year. The Rocks around breach looked prime but seemed to be producing zilch. One guy caught a cpl small trout on minners. Good luck it seems that I need some this year. The beaches changed quite a bit this winter. There are periwinkles in the sand at folly which I don’t think I have ever seen. And I dug up 1 count it 1 sand fleaat Sullivan’s. First I think I have ever seen in the charleston area since moving Down for college 15yrs ago.

I have to agree 100%. Almost embarrassing, especially when you take someone to a spot you’ve been bragging on and after 6hrs…ziltch. Between weather and work, I’ve been missing out. 120miles away from the beach as I type this.
Yes it has been really slow. not much going on except when I come on here and see the occasional red that someone posts haha. Might try and go out tomorrow and see whats biting.
Glad to see your post, because I thought it was just me. I have been getting mostly skunked so far this year, but yesterday on Folly it got really good for an hour or so down by the lighthouse. I caught a mess of whiting (including one big 12 inch bull!) and people around me where catching a lot of sharks too.
Fished IOP on Saturday and Sunday. Fished a new spot around high tide Saturday morning and caught a couple of whiting and a small bluefish. Fished my regular spot on IOP on Sunday afternoon. Caught a couple of whiting, a small stingray, lots of juvenile sharpnose - couldn’t keep them off my bait for about an hour before low tide - biggest one was about 24 inches, but most were about 12 inches. Caught a couple of black drum and a couple more whiting later in the afternoon. Still looking for my first red of the year.

I found my first sand flea on Edisto since moving here in February last year. Would love to see them show up in numbers.
