Hey All - I’m looking for some info. I have a pre-bid Friday on Edisto and the wife and I want to stay the night. I spent a few summers fishing out of Edisto in my teens. Have not been back in 17 years. I’ve looked on the COC website and found a bit of information. Three questions.
Where to stay for one night?
Where to eat? Is the Post Office still around?
What to see on a limited time - we will be there for 24 hrs.
Not sure you can stay just one night - check with Wyndam or Edisto Sales and Realty. Old Post Office just reopened - call for reservations or try Dockside for good fried seafood. While you are there go to Botany Bay Plantation.
Good Luck
I second what Edistowildcat sez, the Plantation Grill at the Resort is also very good, the Old Post Office had just reopenned, no reports yet. For lunch or lighter supper try McConkeys on Jungle Road, all fried but very good
Have a good stay
I think it might be possible to get a place at Bay Creek for one night…especially at this time of year since the rush hasn’t started. I’d call them up first and then if all else fails, google “Bay Creek Villa rental” and see if any personal renters appear. My thinking would be if the room is available…they’d rather make money on one night than none.
Thanks for the input. The folks at the OPO called me back and offered the cottage in the back for the night ($50.00). It looks fine from the pictures. Looking foward to a relaxing evening.

My wife and some friends ate at the Post Office last Friday night, and it was very good with a fair price. You cannot wear jeans though. My wife had to listen to me complain about wearing slacks all night.
DNR check station at Botany Bay. It is out of our regular range but it has a big cooler in it. The food service sub asked me to price the building with him.
Certainly planning on checking out Botany Bay after the meeting.

I’ll keep it to myself. I fished a couple of summers during my teens offshore of Edisto. Have not been back since, but I have fond memories. Caught my first sail on the Lazy Lady and went for a swim off their dock.

I’m with EF. Can’t believe “Beach-Casual” is forbidden anywhere on Edislow Island.
We usually dine at “The Waterfront”. They have a dish with shrimp, sausage, peppers, onions, and other veggies all covered in a marinara type sauce. Man that is some good stuff !
We had a very good time in Edisto Friday night. We took the tour of Botany Bay - It is as advertised. Very beautiful. OPO was just fine. I was dissapointed that the quail and grits was no longer on the menu. I ate the veal and the wife had shrimp and grits. Good prices, good service, and good food. We rented the cottage behind the OPO for the night.

Been to Edisto at least 2 weeks for 33 straight years and not once have I ever taken a pair of shoes(besides to mud in) or dress pants. Guess the OPO is for golfers only now?
