Fripp Island Canal

Does anyone have any experience with the canal on Fripp Island? Renting a house on the canal and trying to decide whether I can keep my boat on the dock of the house.

My only experience is years ago. The trout used to stack up in the canal during the winter. You could catch them from the bank with a Mirrorlure. Storms have changed that area a lot, and I have not fished there in warm weather.

Mouth of the canal is typically dry at low water, and has numerous shallow spots in it at lower water. If you are staying anywhere near the canal bridge it’s worse.

Thanks decided to get a slip at marina so I don’t have to worry about getting in or out at low tide. Now we’ll just have to find the fish!
