FSU, Clemson, and maybe Miami would beat every team in the SEC this year at a neutral site. Only say at neutral site because Bama is tough at home, but I think FSU and Clemson would handle them.

This really through me for a loop. REALLY.

They have played a total of 3 ranked teams.
LSU has played 3 alone
UGA has played 4 alone
Bama has played 2 alone.

I would rather takes my chances stopping Oregon’s offense than getting manhandled and given the illusion that we are hanging with Bama for a half, only to have them beat the crap out of ya in the second half.

BTW, Clemson, FSU and Miami would not beat every team in the SEC at a neutral site. That is a ACC homer statement. I think Clemson can beat any of them and I don’t know about FSU yet as they haven’t played anyone yet to gage them. Miami would lose to at least 4 or 5 of them.

Bama, while not as good as last year is still the best all around team out there. They are not very flashy and it may be the first time that their offense is better than their defense, but they still have it ALL and will wear you down till you cry uncle!

Which 4 or 5 do you think Miami would lose to?

WHat does that have anything to do with it. You made a crazy statement that Cu, FSU and Miami could beat every SEC teams. Being a fan of a SEC team makes me very relevant in this conversation.

So I guess you are not relevant in any conversation regarding South Carolina? I thought better of you Dave. And, I stand by my comments. Relevant or not.

Bama, LSU, Carolina, Georgia, and Mizz.

Oh I forgot Texas A&M. That makes 6 actually, so lets say they play well and beat Mizz or A&M.

Oregon’s playing dang good defense this year too. Their lines aren’t bad on either side of the ball. Honestly at the pace they run, by mid third quarter they’d have Bama on the ropes. Bama isn’t built for fast paced offenses, that’s why they had so much trouble with A&M as well as why Saban *****es about playing them.

They are No.1 and deservedly so because no one has knocked them off that perch yet. The only team that has a realistic shot at it is LSU but Auburn may make it interesting.

We’ll see. Since the ACC Champion (undefeated or not) will most likely face the SEC runner-up in the Orange bowl. Oregon will be playing the SEC champ in the BCS title game.

I hear ya on Oregon’s assessment this year, but they were very similar for the last 3 years through 6 games as well. The point is they ALWAYS do well in the first 6 games of the year on offense and defense until they play someone that has a decent defense. Until they do that, I have to assume they are the same Oregon team. They may prove me wrong and change my mind against a good team this but until then, I don’t give them any bonus points just 'cause.

Here are their stats for points on offense and points allowed by the defense through 6 games for this year and the last 3 years.

2013: OFF: 56.8 DEF: 13.8
2012: OFF: 52.3 DEF: 16.5
2011: OFF: 50.8 DEF: 23.3 Opened with LSU (good team) and lost 40-27, thus the slightly lower off output and increase in points allowed.
2010: OFF: 54.3 DEF: 16.3 Maybe their best team. They did play Tenn the 2nd game, but Tenn was 6-7 that year. They lost to Auburn in the NC game that year.

We will see. I am ready for them to play Stanford, but I don’t think Stanford has the defense to hang with them. Maybe they will win out and Bama win out to get the matchup to really compare them, but as stated before, I like Saban’s chances given a month to prepare!

Oregon will curb stomp Stanford this year. UCLA might be the better match-up for them test wise. Also Oregon St lost that game at the first of the year to a Div II school or something like that but have won everything since.

Honestly Stanford might get beat by UCLA too.

Whole lot of ifs right now, this is a fun season. My biggest problem will be if somehow Ohio State or Louisville backdoor their way into the NCG with the pathetic schedules they play. That would be a shame.

If I were Clemson and If Clemson makes it to the BCSNCG, I would rather play Oregon too. No one wants to play a Nick Saban coached team that has had four weeks to prepare.

On a side note, I think Miami would lose to Alabama, LSU, Texas AM. Tossup between UGA and SC and Ole Miss. Missouri with their QB out, I wouldn’t bet on them.

Salty, what do you mean " if somehow Ohio State or Louisville backdoor their way into the NCG with the pathetic schedules they play. That would be a shame."
How would they backdoor into it?

A 1 loss Oregon, Bama, Clemson, FSU, SC, Stanford, LSU who have played top 10 or even 25 competition throughout the year are still better than either on of those teams being undefeated and playing no one.

UGA would give Ohio State a run for their money right now with all the injuries even. If Georgia was healthy, it would be a double digit win. I think Baylor would beat both OSU and Louisville today. Ohio State is better than the Cards, but honestly they are a top 10 team at best in my eyes.
