Gamecock Memorabilia

So, my great grandfather was the football coach at Carolina during the 50’s and 60’s, Rex Enright. My grandmother (his daughter) just passed last week and she had an old print that was behind her dad’s desk.
I am honored to have it, but I’m a Clemson fan through and through. So, at best I’d be storing it away and maybe eventually finding a place to put it in a nook one day. I’d like for it to maybe reside somewhere at Carolina if possible. Maybe in an athletic center or historical area. Anyone know any contacts to make this kind of offering?

A tiger fan through and through? Looks like you had on a classier looking shirt in the photo you provided? Never catch me wearing orange and purple . Nice find .

Got me on that… when grannies like this are involved, you just do what you’re supposed to do.

I pulled for the other team that day, I couldn’t help it.

I don’t blame the artist for not wanting his signature on that either. I would blame the muse though, not the artist.

I wonder if it was even an official kind of logo at any point or if it was just a print that was a gamecock that hung behind him.

You are doing the right thing. It would be cool for that to be brought back to the facilities and hung somewhere. The history behind it is real cool. Thank you for sharing that with us.

I would just call the SC athletics department and tell them what you have and who you are.

Condolences on the loss of your Grandmother.

RBF

Really sorry to hear about your grandmother Botdag.

Sorry for your loss. I have a couple of friends that are heavily involved up there, I have asked them if they have good contact for you; I’ll let you know what they say. GO TIGERS!!

There is a reason that they kept it and didn’t donate themselves. Pass it down to your kids and keep their memory alive. Display it and be proud.

It was stuffed under a bunch of other grandma-type junk, so it wasn’t really “kept” although it did have a note that said “this is for Brian” (that’s me) on it. She had begun cataloging all of her junk and trying to give it away for the past 5 years and I never accepted any of it until now…

I would hope to maintain ownership somehow. I’ll probably run it by the rest of the family (even distant) before doing anything with it.

Thanks for all of the condolences, she earned her way in.

BG

Cool.

Sorry about your grandma.
