Indeed, the coot logic is strong within this thread.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Facts aside, the logic I’m reading from you coots at this point is basically,

Wait til last year.</font id=“size4”>

While ya’ll are busy calling out and arguing, SC lost yet another commit last night in DB Mark Fields. Ain’t no sugar coating, this is a problem. As great of a coach as SOS is and as much as i respect his shooting straight, the other schools are using his comments to their advantage.

to sprinkle a little salt inside that cut,M Fields says

Clemson may be his place.

Yeah they very well could have gotten paid to flip.

Thought lame duck meant on the way out. Maybe I’m using the wrong term?

I guess the way I see it, lots of coaches in CFB are “on the way out”. People create hot seat list for a reason. Or a coach is an up and coming coach. The is a list of “who will replace who”.

Look at Chad Morris. he has been “on the way out” for years. Every decent opening had his name on it. Did that effect recruiting???

Fish my man I think you are twisting it a bit too far. Of course you can never say for sure a coach will be there forever, but a recruit can at least hope.

Its a different story when a coach says I’m only coaching for another 2 or 3 years. That means a kid knows he will have to deal with a head coaching change (and possible the whole staff) mid way through his college career.

Regarding the Morris thing, it did not affect recruiting because while it was a possibility it was not a sure thing. Also coordinator change is usually not as impactful as a head coaching change.

Phin is so transparent I can see what he had for yesterday’s lunch…

Here’s the nuts and bolts. Spurrier said two, maybe three more. That doesn’t mean he won’t be there four, but it’s all but saying it. Actually, I’d say the odds are better he’ll leave before two years than stay three. He knows it and the recruits know it. Doesn’t mean SC won’t have a good class, doesn’t mean a big name won’t fill his shoes, but the uncertainty is hurting some. Face it.

It could also mean he hangs it up after the bowl game. Spurrier hasn’t ever really done what people expect him to anywhere he’s been. Honestly if you’ve looked at him over the last few years to the end of this one, he looks burned out and tired.

Bowden and Joe Paterno stayed too long to the detriment of their programs. Frank Beamer is doing the same thing. I don’t see Steve Spurrier doing that.

I wonder what they’ll do when he finally retires? Tear down the 85’ fathead? Throw a huge party?
