They can block within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage…
Doesn’t PI mean you interfered with the pass.

You can engage within the first 5 yards, but the receiver cannot come off the ball actually blocking the defender with no intention of running a route (unless the ball is thrown behind the line of scrimmage), which this one was not.

It was called pass interference because the receiver was not holding the defender (it would have been defensive holding) but rather “interfering” with the defender from getting to the intended receiver BEFORE the ball was thrown and WHILE the ball was in the air.

I dislike Winston and FSU too, but that was the right call. It always amazes how dislike for someone or something or the mere want for something to happen can make people look the other way when it comes to the RIGHT thing!

It was a (**() fine play call, just very poorly executed.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Was this directed to me? I thought I had a legit question about the call

No FISH, just a general statement from all of the discussion on this play from the local boards to the national guys as well.

The main one being Chip Kelly! How can you be a coach at that level and AFTER watching that replay stand by and say that it was a bad call and that you teach it that way in practice. Well, if that is the case, he teaches it WRONG!!
