For those of us that have been around a while and have been fishing for years, we understand that getting ready early is the key to getting out on the water when the spring weather kicks in. Just like getting to the ramp early in the morning is critical during the summer, getting to the tackle shops to get reels repaired or getting to the boat dealer to have your boat serviced early, is also critical.
As the number of people living here grows and trust me it is growing at a rapid pace, the demand on these types of services is increasing at the same pace. While we have some great boat dealers and tackle shops here in Charleston, there is only so much they can do to keep up and eventually they form a waiting list because the demand is getting larger and larger.
Being proactive and getting these items done now, while you are not fishing, will save you some heartache and long waits in a month from now. For those of you that prepare and get ready we will see you on the water. For those who wait another month or two can read the reports on the site and live vicariously through the fishing experiences of others.
