2 Weeks til vacation and I can’t wait.
Got to start picking things to take and may run down to BPS for the rest this weekend.
Got a Shimano 2000 Symetre and 7’ Rod to play in the surf and taking along a 4000 Sedona for a back up just in case. I figure that a bulk spool of line (#8) and hooks, sinkers, and a few lures, surely a good time can be had. ( Do I Need BIGGER?)
What are you guys catching right now? Throw a fuel to the fire, PLEASE.

Im going down the 16th. When are you gonna be heading down? I would like to see a fish report myself. I dont care what I catch. Anything will be fine as long as the ■■■■ crabs leave my bait alone.

i hear ya waterdog, im in the same boat. well be at edisto starting the 24th, but my mind has been there for the last two months. its hard to concentrate on anything else when you’ve got a full week of nuthin but sand salt and fishin just weeks away
Our Family will be there the last week of august. Did all the gift shops last year so I am looking foward to more fishing this year. My wife bought me a new diawa surf fishing outfit, and 2 more smaller spinners to take with me. I am looking for more places to fish other than the beach. anyone got any good tips? I am really excited about Edisto for my second trip. Cant wait to get there…drop me a note if you veterens can give me any good advice…I lived in Hilton Head for 15 years and never went to Edisto, now I live in virginia and have been there 2 years running…Wahooowaaa

Will all your fishing be from the surf or will you have a boat?
Me myself will mostly be fishing from the bank. I think a guy that is going with us is gonna take his boat though. Opted to leave mine at home again this year. I got a 2.5 year old that loves to hang out and all day in a boat for him would not be good. I couldnt leave him with the wife all day every or I’ll be living in the boat.

I dont have a boat but thought about renting a small one. But will mostly be from the shore for everything I do. Have all the family with me so I cant be self centered! I know there is a guy there we met last year I think his name was capt ron rents small boats. Tips for either would be great.

Try the dock in State park on Scott creek. A small minnow trap w/bread or cat food and low tide at any small creeks near the lagoons at the beach will produce you some mud minnows. Also walk up the beach to Jeremy inlet always the chance for a trout or flounder. Good luck.

I have been looking for bloodworms I understand Trout and Flounder really like them. I am not sure if anyone on the Island sells them or not but my wife found a pretty neat website for them. It is wormman.com they carry all kinds of worms, crickets most any kind of live bait except minnows etc. They are a little pricey on bloodworms then again I have never bought them so I dont know how much they should cost> Just FYI
Just got back from this past weekend. Caught whiting in the surf on shrimp. Also caught several sharks in the Sound from the boat using mub minnows. Hooked up something on crab over on Pine Island in the inlet, but it spit the hook after 5 minutes. It was strong, whatever it was. It fought like the other sharks did, but I want to imagine it was a big fat redfish!
Going back in 2 weeks, and can’t wait!!!

I will be down surf fishing the 22nd & 23rd of June. Caught some real nice trout, reds & hooked up with numerous fish that couldn’t do anything with. It was this time last year when I was down there. Some buddies & I are coming down. If any of ya’ll are there, we will be at campsite 50 if you want to get hooked up & do a little surf fishing. Oh Yhea, caught the fish on shrimp & fresh mullet. Anyone got any report?
We will be down the 16-23. I moght look you up one morning and we can make the trek up to the inlet. I’ll be staying on the 100 block in the peach pit look me up when yall arrive and i can tell you at least what Ive been doing.

My wife and kids are going today. Unfortunately, I have to stay home for a few days to work before I can get down there.
My week at the beach is turning into a 2 days at the beach. Bummer.

ok less than a month to go and i am so excited. Guess i dont really understand how i lived in hilton head for so long and then olalne trip to edisto i got hooked on surf fishing go figure. I have carefully gone over all my stuff and all set. How do you guys think a inflatble raft would do in the lagoons? Man i cant wait till the 28th!

I just spent the weekend at the beach and got the house ready for my big trip. I’m going down on the 13th and staying until the 22nd. Doing a lot of fishing, one game of golf and spending some time with the family. The family will be down only part of the time. If you see a 17 foot whaler w/ a red top holler.
