Going to fish the tide high to low, high is around 9am so prob be out there around then.
Slow day relative to the rest. Fished right after dead high for 3 hours, ended up with 3 keeper whiting, a sharpnose 3 ft. or so I threw back, a 16" flounder and 2 undersized trout. Usual rays, croaker, small whiting etc. all went back in the water. Nice meeting those who were out this morning, will prob be back next weekend or the following one.

And that’s solely fishing the beach right?
“When men yield up the privilege of thinking, the last shadow of liberty quits the horizon.” - Thomas Paine
I fish the beach in front of the main park if no one else is there, 2nd choice would be the beach to the right of the park, and then the pier.
Took some kids there today at low tide.
1 toadfish
2 baby croaker
First, Most, Biggest
I think I’m gonna go give this spot a try today. Don’t have everything I need but everyone seems to have decent luck here. Wish me luck

Try, try again. Everyone has those kind of days.
Is this place on the harbor over there on James Island? I think I fished it from the boat over the years, but it was just a big pile of construction rubble if I remember correctly.

Oh I’ll get them on the fish. Just figured I would try this place since it had some good reviews and was minutes from their house.

Construction rubble??, one of the most beautiful pieces of land in Charleston.
I think he means all the fill at the sides of the park viewable from the water, but everyone agrees the views here cant be beat, people leave the park speechless.
Sorry, It has been years since I fished in the harbor before that place became a park it looked like a bunch of rubble from a concrete business of some sort.

Oh no worries, just didnt think you could be talking about the same thing.
Anyone fishing the park this weekend, dont think I’ll be able to make it.
Maybe one weekday, would like to learn how you do it though…
I think I’m gonna bring the lady and try Saturday. Didn’t make it the other day, still haven’t been yet. What kind of rigs are y’all using off the beach? I’m not using heavy rods. To be honest I’m getting back into this after a very long time not fishing. Kinda getting obsessed… Go easy on me if you see a guy not knowing what he is doing!

I haven’t tried directly off the beach yet, from the pier I’ve been using both single and double drop rigs and carolina rigs with heavy sinkers, experimenting with different hooks and seeing what works for me, I’m not too experienced but I’m learning some each time I go from trial and talking to people. Unless something comes up I’ll be there early saturday through late noon depending on weather, I’d be up for trying out the beach as well.

Carolina rig with finger or cut mullet chunks circle hooks, popping cork with live shrimp for trout, or double drop rig with frozen shrimp for whiting, etc.
Anyone fish this weekend, have Thursday off, might get down there…
