Good day for reds 9/15

Hello everyone!

Brian and I decided not to take the boat out Sunday and instead enjoy a relaxing day at Shem Creek Pier…It was a good decision as I caught 3 overslot reds (30, 30.5, and 25), several smaller reds and a trout went in the cooler. After the 2nd big red Brian told me he was taking my fishing license away! And, a trip to Charleston Angler is in order today…the 25 incher snapped my Temple Fork Outfitters rod in half! [:0] I have caught waaaaay bigger reds and huge rays on it so that was a shock…had to have Brian help me handline that fish in.

Nice! Caught on finger mullet?

  1. the fact or state of having been affected by or gained knowledge through direct observation or participation

  2. that thing you get just moments after you needed it.

Yes, live finger mullet 3-4 inches. All reds caught between 1.5hr and 30 minutes before low tide…

I took the rod up to Charleston Angler this morning…they are sending it back for a new one. TFO does not have an over the counter exchange, but I have others I can use so no rush. I’m pretty happy with the service.
