LAST WEEKEND CAUGHT ABOUT A DOZEN WHITING,ONE FLOUNDER,ONE GIANT RAY,ONE ARM LENGTH SHARK. CAUGHT WHITING AND FLOUNDER ON SQUID AND SHARK AND RAY ON CUT WHITING.JUST AFTER HIGH TIDE AT DUSK HAD HUGE RUN THAT HIT MY RED RIG WISH IT WOULD HAVE HIT MY SHARK RIG, IT TOOK ALMOST ALL MY LINE 150 YDS. RITE BEFORE I GOT SPOOLED MY 50 LB MONO LITER WAS NO MATCH FOR THE TEETH. NEXT TIME HE WONT BE SO LUCKY.
Wait? You only had 150 yds of line on your reel?
Well, just be careful man. 150 yards of mono trailing behind a fish is bad news. But then again these things happen. Good luck in the future. 
YES I GET YOUR POINT BUT THE SHARK BIT OFF AT THE LITER SO HE HAS ABOUT 24 INCHES FOLLOWING HIM HE WAS EITHER A SPINNER OR A BLACK TIP I KNOW THIS BECAUSE HE GOT AIR BORNE SEVERAL TIMES. THESE ARE COMMON OUT THERE. I CHECKED OUT THE BIGGER SHARK YOU LANDED RECENTLY-NICE FISH.
Try steel leader with a haywire twist, check the shark postings from last year. I can’t remember the username but some guy posted a very effective rig that I haven’t had fail me yet. Oh and no need to yell.
