I decided to head down south and do some exploring. We left Cherry Point @ 5:45am and after a quick boat drive netted some pinky sized finger mullet. A topwater plug was quickly engulfed by a nice fat trout on the third cast which was made even better by the sunrise over the oak trees. We ended up calling it a day around 10am with only 3 fat trout to show for our effort and a bunch of king mackeral sized bluefish and undersized trout. I was hoping to go to the back of the TooGooDoo and find the saltwater lake I used to fish when I was younger from a jon boat around Hollywood and Megget. Man, we used to catch doormat flounders and reds out of that pond! If anyone would like to share some information,tips, or starting points I could return the favor for the Charleston area. Man, that’s a whole different world down there!
