Oh and bait wise if I haven’t had a bite in 20-25 minutes I’ll pull it in and re bait/cast. If I get a bite and then nothing I’ll wait 3-5 minutes to see if it comes back for a second chance in case it didn’t take it the first time.

I prefer incoming tides. I will set my spikes at the edge of the wash, and move when the water is about shin high or so. If you’re in front of a good trough it can take 30-45 mins. to an hour, then move back to the wash edge. Keep in mind my spikes are in the sand 2’, it takes pretty heavy current to dig them up. Check your bait when something hits after waiting a few minutes.
