That was one of the Classiest 1/2 time shows in a long time. They don’t have to be trashy and show their boobies and have sex on the 50 yard line, to be good. Class act!

I guess if you’re into Twerking, crotch grabbing, gangsta rap and wardrobe malfunctions, it wasn’t a good 1/2 time show! It was good for clean entertainment! Maybe you should have played a porn video at 1/2 time! Don’t forget you have to be inclusive nowadays, or the DOJ and others will call for an investigation!
Before last night I could not have told you anything about Katie Perry. Still couldn’t tell you much though she’s not bad to look at. As for the show, I thought it was kind of weird. One part looked like a Saturday morning kids show on PBS and then the gangsta rap part well…not my cup of tea. I really don’t care about the halftime show so never disappointed or particularly enthused.

Those Missy Elliot songs are 15 years old! They are rap, but they are not “gangster” rap! Do y’all classify any rap by a black person as “gangster” rap? Just curious.
If you haven’t noticed a pattern to these shows over the last several years, they get the entertainer that is popular at the moment as the headliner and some entertainer that was hot from the past to supplement. They even had ole Lenny make an appearance!
I thought it was a pretty good show, but I like all kinds of music and “gangster” rap isn’t one of them.

If you had ever seen her videos, this is exactly what you would expect. I could have done without the other 2 “performers”. I did not mind the Katy Perry portion of it. The beginning was really cool.

The crap you see on TV and hear on the radio nowadays isn’t even rap. For one, the words don’t even rhyme, which was the original basis for the genre. Rap lyrics used to have actual content and meaning. There are still some guys out there who truly have a message, but they’re not who makes the record companies rich; now, as is the case with everything else, all that matters is what sells. And ufortunately, talking about how big your rims are or how many people you’ve killed sells more albums than actually having a message. Sad state of affairs…

I like the older meaningful type rap. Not the crap they have today, which is about as good as reading the phone book fast.
My five year old daughter hates Katy Perry, but went on about how cool it was that she was riding that huge gold lion thing. Then she acted like she was gagging through the cartoon beach scene. I got a heck of a kick out of it.
