Harbor island and Fripp island

I will be coming down Friday night and staying on Harbor island till Aug 11. We are going to fish some the flats around the area and I was just wondering if anyone been out to some of the wrecks out of the fripp inlet if so how has it been. And any tips of any where to fish in that area would be great not looking for anyone’s honey hole lol coming done once a year for a week its kinda hard to learn all the good spots thanks a lot and if anyone wants to go fishing while I’m down just holla at me.

Try Johnson Creek from bridge out to inlet on left hand side. Might have some luck there. I have caught flounder, trout, and reds there. Black drum under bridge.

Hopefully by Aug 11 the wind will lay down and there will some reports from the wrecks. As for inshore fishing find some shell racks and drops lots of them out that way and there is plenty of bait in the creeks.Good Luck

shortwing, how did you catch the black drum?

Fripp inlet to the wrecks is tricky this year. Channel through the breakers was way south earlier this year.

I know last year it was a lil tricky getting out of the inlet I figured it would easy this year either. Talking about that have any of yall think those sandbars out their hold any good fish always just passed by them never stoped to fish we have the rocks at the tip of fripp island

Going out the fripp inlet isnt bad. Go to the red buoy and take a right until the breakers stop then head out. Even at dead low its still 3 feet deep.

saluda,
Caught them on dead shrimp with bottom rig under bridge.

what tide? right next to the pilings?
i love catching black drum. that tide can rip through there though. i’ve
caught the same mixed bag there along the grass.
and i have caught trout at low tide right when it switches around the pilings on a floating rig set to be right above the bottom.
never caught black drum there though, makes me want to go!
