Heading down sat morning yeehaw . Gonna be there all week. We are staying on chancelor st. Any one who would like to share some fisihing tips during the week let me know. Gonna try for flounder or spotail mainly but if that fails the sharks and rays will have to do but Ill settle for a cooler full of whiting. Not real picky about the quarry just as long as ther’s plenty of cold beer and fresh bait we’ll do fine. Give me a shout.

Boat?
If boat, catch whiting with cut shrimp on the bottom on the sand bar between the markers leading into the S. Edisto. Lots of sharks there, too.
Reds: catch some menhaden for bait, find structure, and fish the menhaden on the bottom around the structure. Works for me.
No boat? Good luck.

Yeah, Im bringing my boat. I have a 24 ft carolina skiff. The only thing is it doesnt load good and im scared to put it in at the marina or at live oak w/the ripping current. We usually put in at steamboat landing and fish the creeks or go out to the banks. I appreciate the tips. Geez man your post was awesome. Thats what you call a grind for sure. Next time stop in at newberry and pick me up (only 1 mile from 26:wink:). I’ll be happy to split gas bait and beer w/ ya.

Carolina rigs on bottom near docks or fallen trees. And patience. Your rod will double over at some point.
The other (much better) fishermen may have better tips for you.

Yesterday eve put in at steamboat and went up the creek. Didint see any menhaden like the day before. Used mud minnows around docks and tried a popping cork w/ doa shrimp. Small sharks were terrible up in the creeks. Couldnt leave a bait sitting still or they would have it. Caught 6 whiting, 1 bluefish, 1 wheakfish, and a 4 foot shark off the beach this morning. Hooked a stingray also, fought him for about 30 minutes and pulled the hook out. Does anybody ever fish the inshore wrecks on the right going out to the devaux bank? Thanks for the tip edisto9871. Debating on putting in at the marina this afternoon but the current is so strong there.

This morning on the beach was pretty good. Caught 7 whiting, 1 flounder, 5 Bluefish (2 big ones), broke off a ray, caught a 44 inch shark and a[:0] 64 inch shark[:0](That drew a crowd…I was the only one without a camera). Only kept the whiting. Sharks and ray was on bluefish heads and everything else was on fresh shrimp.
