I think Clowney will be on the radar again but very little chance of a DE getting it. Look at the number of QBs on the list.
I also think Bridgewater would be a #1 or #2 if he played for a different team.

Clowney has a chance if he scores a couple defensive td's and has 15 sacks. Ole ball coach may even let him play a little offense this year. Just hope he stays healthy.
How many times in the last 10-20 years has one of the favorites won it? How many times has a guy no one had heard of or knew anything about won it?
Now, tell me you think Clowney or Boyd or Watkins for that matter have a shot.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

I don’t think any of them have a chance.
Clowney being a DE makes him a long shot on any team.
I don’t think Boyd or Watkins have a shot either. I know you will disagree with this, but CU would have to run the table for either to have a shot. Don’t let your bias get the best of you, Clemson plays in one of the worse conferences.
I have zero illusions thinking Boyd or Watkins has a shot. Boyd is a good QB but he’s not a Heisman QB and Watkins would have to have a record breaking season.
Your last statement is also the reason Teddy Bridgewater will not win it.

Clemson winning the national championship will result in a Heisman tie, with both recipients coming from the same team: Boyd AND Watkins…it’s gonna be a great day!
If Clowney stops taking so many plays off and gets 17+ sacks, which he is capable of, a few key forced fumbles(like in the UGA and Michigan games) and USC at minimum goes to the SECCG he would be invited and have a decent chance at winning it.
Highly doubt Boyd will even get invited. We would need to go undefeated through the ACCCG. Id say there is about a 8% chance of that happening…so… slim to none.
With Clowney being the #1 pick of the draft this coming year “assuming” why would he not be considered? Between USC CU and UGA their could be 5 players in the conversation in the end…great stuff going on around here in the cf world.
