Hey Cracker Larry

It ain’t a cobia tree until Ross says it is!

I love being in flip flops drinking Adult sodas and I dont have to much trouble with the sharks, What a great time of the year. Fred it sounds like ya aint doing it right if ya aint enjoying it.

Thinking the magnolias are a little more reliable

i made this up but i think it’s true

They are here

Trust me, they are here. They started moving in with the full moon last weekend. There is more involved to fish migration than just water temp.

Believe me or not, doesn’t matter to me :sunglasses:

I’m not much of a fish photographer. Monday night, 1 short and 1 keeper.

Got it and replied. Caught the keeper on a blue crab, the short on a small mullet.

Looks like a cobia tree to me  That new job of Ross’s must be keeping his schedule tightened up a little?

FWIW, my pecan trees are getting leaves, and the hummingbirds showed up this weekend too

Hey Larry
I work all day everyday but would like to fish for cobia after dark, is this feasable? I have been told they wont bite at night. Thanks for any help.

You were told wrong. People sure do have some weird ideas [:0] Fish feed around the clock, by the moon and tides. The one above was caught about 1 am under a big bright moon. When that moon is up big they will be feeding, and lights on the boat attract bait fish and cobia. I wouldn’t mess with it around a new moon, then they will feed primarily in the daylight.

Edit: The other great things about fishing for them at night is there are no crowds and no boat traffic, and in the later season you can beat the heat.
