Heading down to HHI this weekend and I’m planning to take the boat. Haven’t fished that area much and have never tried shrimping there - we usually hit the harbor and BB. Any suggestions for a general area to deep hole or bait are appreciated. Also not sure if you can successfully bait during the day or not.

Try behind Buck Island. It can be really good there at times. Set up off the island side of the creek.

May River, look for the boats, not hard to find at night and weekends
Thanks for the tips. We went over for about 30 minutes late afternoon and found some people setting poles along the edge of the river. I threw about 7 times with the taped net in 30’ and got about a quarter cooler and rolled out so we could get back before dark.
Caught a lot of trout along grass lines at high tide.
You can’t beat saltwater in the fall! Glad ya’ll had some luck!
