I don’t how many of you have ever followed girls softball at a rec-ball, travel ball, high school, or college level, but if you have, you know where I am coming from. No it is not Clemson playing for a national title, but it can be just as thrilling. We have a group of girls at Stratford High School (Lady Knights) who are on their way Monday to play Byrnes High School, up around Spartanburg, for the state championship. It will be a 3 game series. The Lady Knights have already won their region, district, and lower state Championships.
Some of these girls have played together since they were 8 years old and have developed an awesome chemistry. They are not a big team in either size or numbers, but boy do they have heart. I am an old man with a young daughter who is a senior on the team. I can’t begin to describe the enjoyment I have been blessed with watching them progress. Wish them luck and hopefully they will bring a state title back home.

NaFo Falcons… Prolly won’t meet, but my daughter is the real deal… Small in stature, big in heart. She is the definition of “for the love of the game”…
Of course I am biased, but it is true…

RBF, attitude, determination, and hard work will get her there. It worked for these girls:

She is an 8th grader and got the MVP for the HS JV team…
Last year, she was a 7th grader, and they move her up to Varsity…
First game she got to play… The Home Plate Umpire ask her how old she was as she walk to the plate with oversized gear. She said 12… He asked her if she knew what she was doing… RESPONSE: " You Better hope I do"

Good stuff. Umpires like a catcher with some personality, and one they can trust to keep the ball off of them.
