How to fish the groins/jetties on the beach?

What is the best way to fish around the groins/jetties that are on the beach at Edisto? Is it better to fish close to the updrift side or close to the downdrift side of the groin, or somewhere in between the two? Better at low or high tide? Or is it better just to stay away from the groins altogether and surf fish where there are no groins (like down at the campground)?

Thank you!

Try a live shrimp on a cork and work it on the incoming! Try both sides and the end as close to the rock as you can! Have killed the flounder in the fall at Pawlies.

I fish a fish finder rig with a 1 oz pyramid sinker, 2/0 circle hook on a 7’ medimum action spinning combo, usually shrimp for bait. I cast at the end of the groin just to the side where the water has a swirling action and appears a little calmer. I then work my bait back in very slow as close to the rocks as possible. I catch more black drum than anything else this time of year but also trout and spottail bass.
