How's The Chad Doing?

I don’t follow anything about him or SMU. My son is in Austin and there isn’t so much coverage about him there either. I know they won a few games this year and that’s about all I know.

I wonder how he’s doing with recruiting and if he’s happy getting the HC job he always wanted? I liked him at Clemtech. Liked how his offenses were innovative and fast, but I always hated the amount of “fluff” built into every play. Especially when you knew it was just going to be the jet sweep. He lost a little sheen with me when he couldn’t make a “4th and 1 foot” and would start 5 yards back in the shotgun to get that 1 foot. That always bothered me…

agreed hoppy. Never thought I would say this but I’m glad we went back to trying to run the football this year. He gave up running as soon as we got hit a few times behind the line.

we needed something “fresh and aggressive.” he gave us that for sure and was a big part of helping change the culture. glad he came, but cool with him being gone. and i think it made cu recruit harder, b/c no stars and 1-2 stars ain’t going to make it in his system. and a dynamic offense is more attractive to the best players, i would assume…

Chad’s going to be interviewing over the next season or two for the A&M and Tejas job. All he’s got to do is win a few more games at SMU.

Scott and Elliott were in his back pocket from day 1 at Clemson, they just added a few new wrinkles. Chad never got the benefit of an O-line coming together like they did last season to run.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Good point.

I wonder if Tejas would embrace him or go for another big name? He’d fit right in Aggieville

Texas would take Herman before Chad unless Chad really crushes it next year.

He improved smuggling but I think hell really break out the moves this year

First, Most, Biggest

Herman had a full roster of talent coming in. Morris had nothing yet was competitive in most games. He’ll do fine once he gets some players.

Charlie Skrong better start skrong this year, or he won’t make it past the red dirt rivalry

Morris also had way too many plays in the playbook. Scott & Elliot came to the conclusion that they would execute better by scaling it back and keeping it more simple. Said too many players were missing assignments because they could not memorize or pracice all the plays enough.

We now have the end-to-end talent to line up and beat people straight up which we did not have when Chad first got here.

I like the sound of “end to end”. Been a long time since we’ve had consistent talent and depth on the line
