Spent the early years of my life on the beach a half mile from that pier. It’s a good spot and has produced some serious fish and even Bob Keller’s huge Dusky (610). If I were driving all the way up there, though, I’d drive a bit further and hit the Hatteras Island pier instead. Better facility, better fishing. Any pier on the Outer Banks is going to fair well, but going closer to the best area ( Cape Point), is going to bode better for you. Just my .02. I’ll be up there in October fishing the beaches for Blues, drum and big sharks.
