Looks like I might be off that weekend. Have not been fishing for months and need to get out on the water. Been trying to get a bum shoulder to heal up all winter so hoping I can do a little fishing by then.

Glad to here that you’ll be there Yak, pilot, hope X can make it! Sorry to here that you wont be able to make it murray…you think you might be able to drop off your smoker on the way?
For all of our sake I hope things change in 18 days. With the wind yesterday we hid into the lagoon and tried a few deep drops for trout, bass or drum and nada. Fished the low and about an hour into the incoming with a variety of techniques. Wife only managed 2 small bsb’s. Bumped 3 rods about 1/2 mile for flounder without a hit. I’ll try to join ya’ll on Sat. all day.
ok so what bait do i need? i dont want to get skunked
is the water temp coming up yet it looks like the wether is going to be in the 70s all this week hope that will help bring in the fish
Not sure “what we need”, but I’m gonna bring an assortment of grubs (grey, green, e.c, pink), minnows and the cast net. I wouldn’t worry bout getting skunked.
Keep the keepers and I’ll fry them up if Murray doesn’t drop the smoker off.
getting a bit excited myself. Should be a good time.
We have some friends that will be in town that weekend and one of them wants to go fishing. While he is an avid fly fisher he has never been kayak fishing and I think once he gets a taste of it he will be hooked. I have an extra kayak he can use but just one fly rod and was wondering if anyone might have an extra spining rod he can try out.
Thx

How many yaks in our party? Mud, Scot, Still, St1pilot, yakonfly, ssflounder… who am I missing?
I tried to pick up my site for a day earlier, but the campground filled up recently.
Any other kayak camper besides site 1 and 127? Where are the dancing girls gonna be?
i’m out fellows to much going on this weekend.if anybody don’t mind paddling aways go out of the lagoon and look to your left.there is a house on fripp that sits on a point that is surrounded by rocks.that spot usually holds reds, trout and flounder this time of year.there is a pipe that drains the golf course pond straight across from the pier.the bottom is mud and oyster beds.i have caught some flounder over 4 pounds there.it is to the right of the steps.good luck to all and take some pictures to post for us that can’t make it.
I’m one of the Newbies Yak was talking about. Things are looking up for this weekend. Now I need to just get the boat in the mail with enough time to strap it to the roof of the truck. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
Yak, I may be in the market for one of those Echo’s you were talking about. Appears that storage, time and commercial movers were not as kind as they could have been to my rod and reel. I may have to make due with a stiff 6wt and hope I don’t hook anything too big…yeah right:wink:
