Hi all, hope everyone had a good thanksgiving. I am looking to come bring the wife and offspring’s to hunting island for a weekend during the cobia run.my main question is,in an 18 ft skiff would i be able to get out from the park to any decent areas for cobia? I always seem to get the boys all revved up,swing for the fence, and get kicked in the bobbers.hopefully some of you will offer advice, tips, suggestions on the matter bc sometimes we actually knock it out the park.would a trip be worth planning or is thete better options for a cobia-camping weekend? Thanks
Put in at Broad River Bridge Landing. The best Cobia fishing in the world is right there at the bridge! You’ll see as many as 30-40 boats on the South side of the bridge up on the sandbar there. Anchor near, but not too close to the “fleet”, keep a good chum slick going, and put a chunk of menhaden or squid on the bottom on a pair of 4/0 rigs. Put live eels or “greenies” (catch greenies with a sabaki rig) on top with big surf rods/corks. Stay tuned to this forum. Everyone starts talking Cobia months before they arrive in late April. May is the peak, especially during and right after spring tides.

Its an easy run from Edisto to the sound by way of ■■■■■■■ cut and no t far to the Combie light , a great cobia area!
