Anyone have any recommendations what to do with your boat if you are not able to tow it out is town if a hurricane would come? Not that I ever want it to happen just curious. I had one guy tell me years ago that he put his plugs in his boat and filled it full of water when Hugo came through. Actually sounded like a decent idea.
That’s what I’ve always done, Dump it off the trailer and onto the ground. That will keep the wind from getting under it, then tie it off to several trees, or whatever you can. Even an anchor or 2. If the boat is light, like a jon boat, I fill it about 1/3 with water.

I’m gonna put water in aluminum boat, but leave Mckee&Bulls Bay on trailers tied down and coupled up to trucks, does anyone know what direction to head the bows into or would it make any difference. Thanks

First half of the hurricane, wind will be from the North East, second half it will be from the South West after the eye passes. Line up your bow and stern on that axis if you can. If you have a center console with a cover hanging from the top, I would take the cover off. They aren’t designed for 100 mph winds.

Depends on where you are vs. the eye path.
Hugo laid down trees in my yard NNW to SSE.
Large 100’ pines.

If you fill with water make sure you block up the trailer frame. All that weight will kill your suspension, jack, tires, and axle.

I can also make arrangements to store a few boats. We have a storage lot in my neighborhood, and I have a friend with a farm. I’m in the Chapin area, and can meet with just a slight heads up. I’m hoping this newer track model will give SC some relief.
