HWY 170 bridge

I have fished off the pier by the 170 bridge a few times last summer, wanna try my luck with a cobia or maybe some spanish mackerel. Can you jig them up there like they do at the piers?

I seriously doubt it but i guess its possible to find a stray. You either need to find a buddy with a boat or try one of the piers for spanish. As for the cobia, you almost certainly need to find a friend with a boat.

Thanks for the help, I have access to a boat but for alot of weekends this summer my dad and brother will be out of town and I will be stuck on the bank. Any tips that will help me find a few fish with out a boat will be greatly appreciated.

Try wading for reds on the flood tides. There are some spots that can be reached by car. You could also consider buying a kayak and kayak fishing. Would get you on the water for relatively little money.
