Okay, so what I learned from this thread is that water temperature for inshore fish doesn’t matter. The same spots hold the same fish at all times of the year, fish feed the same all year long, and eat the same things all year long… So, if you want to catch fish, you can just go out and anchor up at crab bank and hit the “motherlode” every time. Does that about sum it up?
That’s odd, because it’s completely contrary to how fish live outside of the rocks.
Chit, I cant answer a hard question like that. Fritz can though
Ding, Ding, Ding, DING! It doesn’t happen much, but another winner! The BEST fishermen pay no attention to water temps…Now, if I could just find that article in D-Bag magazine

Are you for real or do you just make a living trolling internet fishing sites sites berating people, or are you just having a really bad run with life?
As negative and condescending as you’ve been on these two threads to me, and now to others (and no one has responded to your negativity) you just can’t let it be. Some of us such as Optiker have tried to get people to think about different fishing scenarios, but you try to derail it every chance you get.
You have three choices bubba, you can constructively engage with your fishing knowledge and try to help less experienced fisherpeople out, you can continue trying to berate me with your negative attitude, or you can politely move on. Which shall it be?
We’re trying to have a non personal fishing discussion here.

Wait a minute… Did someone respond condescendingly to my sarcasm? Is that a double negative? What does the rule book say about a move like that? How can we even interpret it?

Yes, but keep in mind, labs are exponentially* smarter than Boykins.

I get it, dude. You got called out for posting several ridiculous threads claiming water temps. make no difference in patterning fish, and you don’t like it. Several people may be much more PC than I am, but the thoughts and opinions are the same. Bottom line is your initial posts came across as extremely egotistical and condescending, and I don’t think they were very helpful to the average fishermen patrolling this site looking for help. Your advice from what I surmise is to spend more time on the water. If you do, water temps. become less important. Am I right?

Homie, I’m just tryin to let recreational fisherpeople that time on the water paying attention to whats going on trumps inaccurate data every time. That’s all. Y’all think this stuff is helping you catch fish then more power to you. I’m done with this.
“Inaccurate data”…nice parting shot. I’m going to call Humminbird first thing in the morning and tell them to replace my bow unit because Hoppy said the data it’s collecting is “inaccurate.”
Hopefully you stick to your word and you are “done with this.”

Ok professor, I’ll be done with this when you will. You keep engaging me and I’ll return the favor.
Riddle me this please. Mid morning today I fished in a very shallow creek (3’) out of the wind. Surface temp was 63. Then around noonish I went to a deeper creek (6’) with a little breeze and surface temp was 67. When I was in the harbor at 1:30 heading back to the dock surface temp was 62.
What does that mean to you? How would you interpret it and how would it influence your fishing?

Tell me again what exactly it is you bring to a fishing discussion? Lets hear your opinion on my last post, which may help people with their fishing endeavors.
Hoppy, you seem to be miserable??
I am laughing my azz off at your remarks to some good folks on here.

Ok Gilligan, I guess before I could begin to solve your “riddle,” I’d have to first know how accurate, or in your words “inaccurate” your data is. After all, my last post referred to your comment about “inaccurate data.” But I get it, you need to focus only on those things that support your comments. I feel ya, playa.
To put your mind at ease, I’m still waiting to hear from Humminbird about the potential calibration issues in my water temp sensor that could be leading to the “inaccurate data” you spoke of. I’ll report back as soon as I hear something because I’m sure you’ll be on pins and needles until you know.
