Yes but they are Yankees.

Yeah, there is that. Plus Memphis is on the river, close to good duck hunting, has the blues and the Peabody. Not to mention they filmed the Blindside and The Firm there. Johnny Cash got his start there too, though I’m not crazy about the BBQ.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Even though its a rivalry game I don’t see that happening. Miami struggled with UNC & Wake freaking Forest. They could not move the ball much.
FSU will dominate them and I don’t see Da U scoring more than 14 to 17 points. FSU will score at least 40.
So if Miami wins, are they good or was Fla St overrated? Call it now instead of after the game.

Kind of hard to call it until you see how the game plays out. Does Miami dominate? Do they squeak out a win? Do they win because of a bad call? A tipped pass for a pick six?
Shev, all of those scenarios to me could say Fla St was overrated. Luck, bad and good, is part of the game.
Honestly, I don’t know myself.
Shevlin is right. No way to answer before the game.
Ask yourself this. Was Clemson over-rated because FSU dominated them at home?
Would you have answered the same way before the game?

Yes and yes.
Here’s what coming b8 and you know it. If Miami wins, people are going to say Fla St was overrated. If FS wins, people are going to say Miami wasn’t very good anyway and the win means nothing. I personally believe a win is a win.
I know what you are saying 7. But it really depends on how they win. when you have 2 top 10 teams playing you expect them to be close. So if Miami wins in a close game, I think it is a wash. If they win in a blow out, then how do you argue that FSU was over rated.
There are many many Clemson fans that do not think Clemson is over rated even after the blow out at home. But if that happened to ANY other team they would sing a different tune.
If LSU goes to Bama and beats them by 40 points, would you think Bama is over rated???

Yes. If you are ranked above or close to your opponent and get your ass stomped at home by 40 or close, you were overrated. I believe that regardless of my loyalties.

You are rare. Most fans will only admit that is it was not their team.

Yes, overrated. I would think we should be low teens (#12 or #13). FSU is really amazing though. Think Bama is the only team that could beat them.
As you have said we really don’t know for sure until the end of the year. What if FSU goes to the NC and beats Bama by 2tds?
Then I might say that while Clemson was overrated maybe not by as much.
That’s a lot of ifs but we are playing the “if” game right now.
I agree FSU is pretty dang good and think they will beat Miami by many. I would like to see how they do against a team that can control the ball/clock. bama
Also like to see them against a team that might outscore them. Oregon.

I think their defense would hold Oregon in check enough win by 10 or more. Of course I could be wrong.

I think Miami will be all out in this game… Big rivalry and looking to topple the power team. I say they stay within the spread.

Not necessarily… If bama had 5 turnovers, called some Spurrier time outs and just played a crappy game, not so much. After all, they have won three consecutive championships and LSU is capable. That alone is worth a high ranking. Anyone can have a bad game at some point.
had you said vandy beat them at home by 40… yes, overated

I hope Miami makes it a game, but I don’t think they will. Truth be told, the most exciting BCSNCG matchup for me would be Oregon and FSU. But Alabama deserves to be there. It just sucks that either Oregon or the Noles have to get left out.
