Interesting Catch

Had a little time last week so I headed down to breach inlet to fish the rocks at low tide. I was dragging a mud minnow and picked up a nice trout after a few casts. Made a few more casts and felt something pick up my minnow. I wasn’t sure what it was but lifted the line a little and felt some weight. However, it felt odd. Went ahead and lifted a little more and could feel something moving. Thought maybe a crab but it would have been a big one. Get it to the top of the water and was very surprised to see an octopus! I slowly started to reel in and just as I get it to the rocks it pops off. Probably for the best as I wouldn’t know what to do with it!

Fished a little longer and picked up a couple flounder. Not bad for an hour, a few nice fish and a good story!

Anyway, definitely a first for me and an unexpected catch.

Ive caught 1 there before, and you catch them at the jetties. I caught a black drum and it attacked it and wouldnt let go of it.

No idea you could catch them like that, but it makes sense. Might have to try it lol

Anything that pulls drag, right?

That would be crazy to have fish attack the octopus!
