Hi !

I wasnt sure where to put this as a new person joining the forum, as most forums ive been on had an intro section!

We have lived now in Mount Pleasant for 7 wonderful months and couldnt be happier.

Now that we are mostly settled , I miss fishing and shooting!

I have fly fished most freshwater in sussex county NJ, in and around the warren VT area as well as bass fishing in the newark watershed area.

Growing up i spent summers on a bay/lagoon in souther nj chasing blue crabs, flounder, baby blues (snappers) etc. Been on many a beach / jetty with a surf rod chasing striped bass and just relaxing at times

I have built some rods, sold my bass boat, boat another…sold it…lol

Well here we are, looking to find out the ins and outs for surf, kayak fishing in saltwater in and around mt pleasant, iop etc. As well as some crabbing, i have my grandfathers recipe for some killer spicy crab sauce… :slight_smile:

Also if you know good places to shoot, that would be helpful.

Any info is highly appreciated as we roll into the fall im hoping to wet a line or two…

Welcome to the SC low country. There are some great folks with a lot of information on this site, however this site is not what it used to be but there a few that keep it going with good info.
There are several public shooting ranges near you in the Francis Marion Wildlife management Area

If you enjoy freshwater fishing we have a lot of great freshwater lakes. The Santee lakes have a variety of fish including striped bass.
Lake Murray is stocked with stripers every year and also has a variety of other fish, including largemouth bass and severs species of catfish. Welcome to the forum.
