hit the beach after 5 for a evening session with the girls and a few friends. waded out 2 fresh halves of a good sized spanish. 5 minutes and one gets hammered but it was on the big spinner without a bait feeder so the fish missed the hook by about 1". No other hits the rest of the evening on the other bait. Friend showed up with whiting rig and we put one back out. Nothing as the tide started pushing back in over the bar. Nice night. I think i need to stop bringing the casting gear and just bring the kayak out with the 30W. its just such a hassle, i dont really have it in me just to catch a shark

Nice! Too bad you missed the fish. Happens to me on at least half of them. Spanish makes such great bait. Did you recently catch some?

Spanish was caught on a cobia trip Wednesday. It was the only one that didnt get eaten by cudas. Was going to eat it but forgot it was in the freezer to harden up for filetting so it froze solid overnight and I don’t like them as much after freezing so I knew it would be a great bait. Little tunnys are even better!!!
