I am heading out tomorrow to try the incoming tide on IOP. I have tried Breach Inlet, Sullivan’s Island and IOP. Only caught one thing but I haven’t been out in awhile. The last time I was on IOP, surfers kept walking through my lines. One guy actually grabbed the line to move it out of his way.
Any suggestions for good spot on IOP without surfers and with fish? I thought I was in a good spot last time but they all showed up after I started.
i tried 53rd ave then ft moultrie this morn but no luck. at iop even with a 20oz weight (half a stingray for bait) on my heavy rod my line got thrown sideways and clogged with weeds. i also casted a 10oz weight with cut herring and a 5oz with shrimp with the same results, however i at least had fun yak surfing paddling back after i dropped the 20oz out. as for your line pest problem about the only thing ive seen work is beaching then releasing a big shark. some reason nobody wants to swim/surf around your lines after they see whats hanging around
Don’t know about IOP, but go right across the bridge to the round house on Sullivan’s. There is a beach access to the right of the house. I like to fish the rocks right out front. Can also just chunk one out and let it soak to hook up sharks that are cruising through the channel.
which round house you talking about…the one around station 28 or around breach inlet? not that it matters ive caught plenty of fish at both before but i may have to try there again soon but tomorrow morning im planning on launching from breach and going up the inlet for inshore fish and hopefully bonnetheads. full sized bonnethead from a yak would definitely be a fun fight!
The one on Sullivan’s. I think your right that it is station 28. There is another house to its right and then a beach access that ends into the ocean at high tide. Trying to go on a low country sleigh ride, huh?
Check that. It’s station 32 right at Breach. Misread your question

Ive done fairly well in the past about 200 yards south of station 26 with big blacktips. Basically, where you see the waves breaking over the sandbar out there, 200 yards or so to the right of that if youre facing the water
