So it’s been a while since I’ve had a chance to post a report…or surf fished for that matter! Between work, family and weather it has been awhile. Fished IOP on Sat. 6/6 at what USED to be my goto spot…caught baby Sharpnosed for THREE straight hours!!! Non stop!!! Many double hook ups, a few small Whitting and Blues thrown in, I guess just to keep me baiting hooks. Bite slowed at high tide. Had to make a change. Decided to give Folly a shot on Sun. Much better results! Hit a spot that has always produced for me in the past. Lines about 8:00AM, first fish on 8:02, nice fat Whitting. Landed Whiting constantly for about 2hours some were nice and healthy. And I’m pretty sure this was my first Puffer from the surf. Then…baby Sharks …one after the other again…. By that time though, the “non local” surfers started to move in and I was tired of reeling in baby sharks. Packed up around noon. All in all it was great just to get my feet wet and sandy! HAPPY! HAPPY!
very nice! IOP was slow today although I managed to bring in one decent Red
I haven’t hooked a Red in the surf since March, Nice!
Which end of IOP, you can be vague.
Theres not much you can do this time of year to get past those annoying babies other than big live bait or use one of those sharpnose for bait. Seems theres millions of them out right now.

If I was gonna kill a Sharpnose for my one per day, don’t think it will be a 10 incher. Maybe a three footer?
Fished the north end of folly today, like everyone else baby sharp noses and blues. Bite picked up at low tide, whiting started rolling in. Seemed like they were all breeder females. Their bellies were fat full of eggs. All whiting returned. Was just packing up to leave and hooked in a monster red. Got him into the white wash when the leader gave out. It was the best way to end A beautiful day.
I love that last pic! Just set it as my new background for my PC.

Thanks! It was about 30" or so kind of a weaker fight but it was nice since there were so many rods in the water around me. Some reason people like to be within feet of me…
No need to be vague as I said most everyone fishes there. It was Breech on IOP side.

…i will usually move…at least 100yards or so. A lot of water and fish in the Atlantic Ocean…just saying The time I saw you at IOP (you were in my spot!!!, buy the way ) I went north 4 blocks to another hole, no problem. Next time I see your vehicle, I’ll come down and speak.
Interesting… I was just thinking the other day of the picture of your big red a few months ago that I knew exactly where that was at… If you see my escape please do
And I would usually move, but I had the family and two buddies of mine and with the wife being pregnant, it was easier to just take it and stay haha, and with the red it was all worth it haha especially since all the other guys were catching were baby sharp nose:smiley:
digger54, I take alot of pics while on the beach. Mostly boring stuff like, wave heights/paterns when the bite is on, troughs, washes, holes and cuts at low tide, tides flowing or ebbing…and lots of “Rods in the Foreground”. One day I need to create a coffee table book .
Sunrise? or Sunset? I’m torn…

might want to brainstorm another name for it…?
sunrise always trumps sunset for me: usually much calmer surf in the summertime, less busy, and it reminds me of all the times I saw the sun come up at folly with my dad.
BTW, that puffer can only hurt you if you stick your finger in his beak.
@DP all your shots are great, but selfishly I prefer sunset only because I like a darker wallpaper on my PC since I’m lights out while on the PC. I truly believe that your pics could easily be picked up by saltwater books/magazines/advertisers if they were able to get a viewing of what you have.
Holy ship Mr Parker, Just saw that giant BULL picture above what a beast, maybe one day-what dreams are made of nice job getting him in.
Glad you like the pics digger54. Like I said before, I got lots of 'em…
Fishin’ in the rain…
…fog so thick it almost blocks out the sun…
…near Morris Island lighthouse…
…and another nice sunrise. ENJOY!!!
That’s more than just rain… haha that is a down pour.
Caught tons of fish that day as well!
I bet. I love fishing in the rain, although lately its been accompanied by lightening and I don’t mess with that.

Me neither, I’m allergic to lightning.
