IOP - Monday May 21

Fished IOP on the outgoing tide Monday afternoon and caught half a dozen whiting. Tried out the Sabiki rig method posted by Stevo291sc and it worked well. Lost one good fish right at the surf line that my imagination says looked like a pompano. I played it too hard and the tiny hook pulled. Lesson learned. Nice afternoon on the beach.

Sabikis work very well. Use them on all my bait rods with success.

The sabiki is my go to method for baitfish. I have caught whiting bluefish redfish stingrays pinfish spot on the sabiki. I try the get the lazer sharp ones with size 6 hooks so there a little bigger.

I’m guessing you are putting bits of shrimp or cut bait on them. I’ve used the fish skin rigs, but just saw they have a shrimp rig now. Have you tried these?

Tried them before, shrimp pieces work the best, use local, not the wallyworld stuff
