Fished high tide falling. Lines in about 8:00. Pretty slow morning overall. 2 Rays and one decent Red. What’s your guess? 50"?
dang…that is a monster. good catch, sir!!
Yes, very good catch.
Awesome catch!!!
Nice, good to see you get a special fish, that’s about as big as you catch them around here. Between this and that big black drum on here right now I’m getting the itch to do some monster drum fishing.

It was special for sure, was figuring on a few Rays. Thought the Red was a big Ray, then I remembered “the one that got away” from a broken hook, back in the fall. I really was not rigged for something with this much weight. Fought the fish down the beach 150-200yrds. The hook did fail, but she was already on the sand. Spent 5-10 mins revieving in hip deep water 'till it tried to tail whip me to get away. Swam away very strong. For sure the next few trips I will have the 3x tournaments tied on. (If I use finger mullet)
This is killing me!
Great catch DParker, congrats!
Bait choice ?
Yucky frozen finger mullet.
Nice fish!!! That’s the one I dream. How far out did you hook up with her? Just curious because I have been trying to catch one and I’m clueless on how to do it and don’t know how far out these kind of fish frequent. Any help would be appreciated and thank you in advance.

Maybe 20-30 yards? It was right at high tide.

“Decent” red? Ummmm…what do you consider less than decent? Just kidding. Great fish.
I know you put in your time on the sand so you’ve earned fish like that. Well done.
