Hit Isle of Palms yesterday for my first time ever and fished from the beach. Was extremelly slow at first, however when the tide started coming in, the whiting started hitting like crazy. I chunked one out for sharks, and within an hour i had a massive run which broke my line within 5 seconds. A couple hours later I hooked onto another massive shark that almost spooled me and then ended up biting through my 270 lb steel leader within like 15 seconds of dragging out line. These were two massive fish that defeated my gear which i have caught 7 footers on without much of a hastle.

Note to self, when it comes to swimming at IOP, lay down until the feeling passes.
You should note to self if you don’t want to swim with sharks, you need a pool or a friend with a pool. Sharks are IN the surf zone at all beaches. They will likely never hurt you but, they are there for sure. Just think about the 14’1 hammerhead caught 100 yards off the beach recently in FL. They follow the prey.
