Fished off the bridge in wild dunes on Morgan creek. I did quite well I must say! 3 reds, half a dozen keeper drum, and a trout. It was perfect weather!! Plus I got to watch every golfer try to hit it on the par 3 next to the bridge. I’m no better at golf, so I’m not pickin. But the beer tasted well, the fish bit, and I had some laughs with te golfers as they passed by me. I fished the outgoing tide. Casting shrimp off the bridge just on te edge of the weed line. I also tried a differant method and fished a shrimp weightless. Just let the current do its thing and take it under the bridge. That paid off! Caught my first 2 reds that way. All in all, I had a good morning!! Gonna grab some lunch and fish later.
Are you going back out there today? I need to bring home some diner tonight. I fished the Mt P pier yesterday. Caught 4 rays, 2 undersize sheepshead, and 1 undersize black drum.
I am. I’ll be here off and on throughout the day. Shoot me a pm
PM sent. I’m headed that way now. I left my cell phone number on there so text me if you want.
Well I tried to. I didn’t know if I could get passed the gate. Is there anything special I need to go through it?
A pass. Surprised that security didn’t throw you out of that location. Have heard stories of them being harsh on kids for fishing around that area.

Well poop. Looks like I’m back to just fishing the piers. Too bad I couldn’t fish the Mt P pier Sunday. I think a crappy week of weather is going to mess this up this coming weekend too.
I was there all day with no problems. Security even stopped to see what I was catching. The golfers stopped to BS as well. They may not allow kids to fish out there, but I’m far from that young age. After the rain, the no-seeums ate my arse alive and I had to retreat to the house.
This was during the summer the security leaned on the kids. Like you say though, Adults may garner a little more respect. Are you a property owner?

No I’m not an owner. Inlaws have a place there. But everyone was very polite and most stopped just to see how the fish were biting. I did see alot of boats passing in and out through there. Most stopped to fish around the bridge and shared there catch of day. It was the bridge on hole #17. Not alot of neighborhood traffic through that area either. I even got a couple free beers from the golfers that stopped. Most were pretty tanked up by then anyhow…
