Any experience with these around Edisto? I’ve seen where guys have been catching them. Anyone know where to fish for them and what bait to use?
I’ve only caught them incidentally while cork fishing with a shrimp. Spot near otter Island, up river at the mouth of the Combahee , and caught one way up river near the hwy 21 bridge.
“Why Bruce?”
Caught a few off the beachfront but they were small
Caught this one and another just like it about this time last summer while fishing for tarpon.
I have caught them this time of year off the Deveaux Banks and the sandbars off the south side of Edisto using live menhaden.
Fishing in bottom, float, free lining?

Which side of Deveaux Bank have you had success from? Fishing from your boat or shore? I’ve heard of them coming through between Deveaux and Botany (which would require a boat), but have never seen them myself.
Free lining and Carolina rigs from a boat. I have never tried to fish from shore down at that end.
