Took my Daughter ( Lil’Red ) to Jason’s Lake for the first time at Botany Bay this morning…with our red Canoe.
She had a blast catching Redfish by casting a red popping cork with a jig head & Electric Chicken grub, about 2 feet under the cork. Wished I had brought some top water plugs too, as some of the fish were striking her cork pretty hard. She caught about 20 from 14" to the biggest in the photo. She also caught a Black Drum ( 20" ) on a jig tipped with a piece of Shrimp.
I’d be very careful in a canoe in that lake - there is a 12 foot alligator.

Ain’t scared in my Canoe, been in close encounters with big Gators up on the lakes before with it. Wouldn’t want to be sitting on a Kayak though.

He ran us off last time we were there fishing from shore. The commotion of catching fish drew him in QUICKLY.
