Does anyne have experience with traversing this inlet into Scott Creek?
Is Scott Creek tidal in this area, and if so what size boats can be brought into the inlet?
I am considering a lot in the gated community and a benefit is the ramp, but if it is small and too tidal then I want to know it up front.
Thanks
I dont have the answer to your question, but I looked at those lots too before (really nice, BTW) and was told by someone who knows that all the inshore fish you would ever want to catch can be found in that creek and the other cool thing is right across from the entrance is the road leading to Live Oak landing. I’d suggest going there on a low tide and walking out to the dock and checking. Good luck!

the inlet is ankle deep at low tide, however the rest of the creek is navigable. you can check it out from the state park at low tide… though it is about a 2 mile hike to the end.
Sleepy - Floater is right. I just walked across the inlet this past weekend at 30-45 min. from dead low and it was barely running at one point. That area is very transitional with erosion as well. You can probably get a small boat in there at high but you would have to know exactly where the deepest point of the inlet is because close to low it is only about 30-40’ wide. The exact point where the end of the inlet meets the breakers is slightly south (maybe 20 yards) of where it was a year ago. I rented one of the houses with a dock last year and just used kayaks and the rest of the creek has pretty good water even at low. If you would be content just to keep a small boat at your dock and fish just that creek you are good to go. Leaving the inlet in a small boat you will have to deal with the breakers depending on wind and current.

Thanks guys. I’m going to look into it a little more. It isn’t a big deal about larger boats. Live Oak is right there and all the usual choices are close by. It would be nice to use it at high tide though. Guess I’ll have to take some time and go take a look for myself.
