The three guys in the Scout Bay boat that came busting in on us at the jetties. While at anchor within casting distance of the rocks and no other boats any where near us these three class acts came rolling in over our anchor line cutting us off and proceded to drop the trolling motor and start fishing. It wasn’t MY spot but we were there first and we were at anchor. As soon as I figure out how to post the pictures I’ll get them up so everyone can congratulate them on being such fine sportsmen. Thanks guys, I used ya’ll as a lesson for my 10 yo as an example of very poor behavior for any outdoorsman.[URL=http://s486.photobucket.com/albums/rr225/cffortner/?action=view¤t=CharlestonFishing4-03-11058.jpg]
I was fishing thirty yards from a dock with lines out and had a wonderful light green in color very large scout cut in between me and the dock. He didnt understand the problem and went on his way. I saw some high IQs on the water yesterday. I am so tired of a jet ski and tube that I could SCREAM.
if they cut my anchor line there would have been hell to pay. just getting that close between me and the rocks would have gotten them a very large roostertail soaking everything they have.
the roostertail also works on jetskiers following too close.
“In every species of fish I’ve angled for, it is the ones that have got away that thrill me the most, the ones that keep fresh in my memory. So I say it is good to lose fish. If we didn’t, much of the thrill of angling would be gone.” Ray Bergman
I had two jetskiers all up in my baits while tarpon fishing this morning. The old guy was jumping waves and his fat companion was videotaping him. The lack of awareness to their surroundings is baffling.
In this case there is clearly a defficiency in boating/fishing experience, on account of the floppy boonie hat (a sure sign of amateur hour). Maybe a stern talking to would have been in order? These guys obviously had no clue.
I was poling a flat towards a school of reds on saturday and had a guy plow past us and drop his anchor about 10 yards from us and pull it in, then drop it again, then pull it back in, and drop it one more time. All with his 2 stroke motor on the entire time. Pissed me and my partner off. Needless to say we didnt catch a single red out of that school…

i bet his fatass was sore the next day…
ive been seeing these asshats for so long now that nothing really surprises me anymore…
Love the tough talk about concealed weapons. You really gonna pull a gun on someone for cutting you off while fishing. Pointing a weapon at someone is a felony and I wouldn’t advise anyone to do that over a fishing a spot.
Just to add, I have no clue who is in this picture. Probably one of those frigging guides.
